The Fraud Associate works as part of the Compliance team assisting with fraud mitigation and fraud monitoring primarily within the Credit Card Department, but also could be with prepaid card, deposits, and ACH. This position will work within the team to ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

- Assist with monitoring credit card transactions in real time to identify suspicious or abnormal activity.
- Assist with analyzing customer spending patterns to detect potential fraud indicators. Use analytical tools and dashboards to investigate account behavior.
- Review system-generated fraud alerts within a case management system and escalate cases when needed. Document findings clearly and maintain accurate case notes in fraud systems.
- Communicate with customers to verify transactions and resolve fraud concerns.
- Collaborate with fraud operations, customer service, and risk teams to prevent losses.
- Assist with reporting trends, emerging fraud patterns, and process improvements.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information responsibly.
- Assist with fraud oversight through monitoring and disposition of fraud alerts in the Credit Card Department or any other department assisted thereto.
- Assist with maintaining predictive models to analyze behavior and detect potential fraud in the Credit Card Department.
- Utilize predictive models with substantial amounts of structured and unstructured data to analyze behavior and detect potential fraud.
- Utilize data processing techniques to manage datasets, including data cleaning, normalization, and ensuring model performance.
- Collaborate with team members on the design and build out of Credit Card programs as well as enhancements of new card programs.
- Maintains proficient knowledge of all applicable banking rules and regulations.
- Assist in the development of new risk flags and create reporting to monitor those flags.

The position of Fraud Associate is not responsible for the supervision of any employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; some experience in financial services preferred.

- Advanced skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
- Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
- Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, draft reports, correspondence, and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
- Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
